The Upward Bound Parent
Parents are a vital part of any child’s development. We recognize and value the role of parents in their children’s lives and therefore encourage active involvement by our students’ parents.
How to get involved:

UB Parent Committees: All parents will sign up to participate in one or more service committees. The service committees support the objectives of the Upward Bound Academy to prepare your child for college and life.

Because parental involvement is essential to fulfilling the mission of the Upward Bound Program, starting this Fall Semester 2009 parent attendance will be mandatory for at least one workshop each semester sponsored by Upward Bound. PLEASE NOTE: Failure to attend the mandatory workshops may result in your child being suspended from the Upward Bound Program.

All UB parents are automatically members of the Parent Advisory Board. Attend PAB meetings. Hold an office. Let your voice be heard. PAB meetings are held on the first UB meeting date of each month at 9:00am.

Attend as many workshops and other UB sponsored activities as possible.

Serve as a chaperone at UB activities and events.

Share your input and ideas with UB Administrative Staff.

Monitor your child’s grades and reports.
