As part of the University of Florida's effort to enhance the awareness and appreciation of diversity among students, faculty and administrators at the University of Florida, the Office for Academic Support and Institutional Services (OASIS), under the direction of Interim Director, Betty J. Stewart-Fullwood, coordinates the University's support services for first generation and/or underrepresented (including Hispanic, African American, Asian American, and Native American) students and underrepresented faculty.
The mission of this office is to:
1. Enhance recruitment, retention, follow up support and graduation of the Univeristy's first generation and/or underrepresented students.
2. Enhance recruitment and retention of underrepresented faculty.
3. To encourage and support higher education among first generation and/or underrepresented students and underrepresented faculty
In fulfillment of its mission, OASIS works in close cooperation with a variety of units on campus to encourage and facilitate the first generation and/or underrepresented student's and underrepresented faculty's successful negotiation of any and all processes at University of Florida.
